It was closure for me. There were a lot of jokes, but Kevin made it known far before the movie was released that this was for the fans. It wasn't going to be a colossal epic. It was a movie about Jay and Silent Bob. But more than that, it was a movie that left you feeling sorry for no one. The Askewniverse is the most popular "series" of movies out there (movies with the same characters or connections), and unlike most, it seems to get better with age. From Clerks, then to Mallrats, then to Chasing Amy, then to Dogma, Smith captured larger topics with more ease. And after tackling two very difficult topics in 'Amy and Dogma, JSBSB seemed like the natural choice. Let's let all the jokes hang out. It was subtle, too.

It closed for me when Jay got Justice. And it went out with a bang at the party, when the last frozen frame of the film (disregarding the scene after the credits) was of Jay and Silent Bob. I got the feeling that they were going to be happy for the rest of their natural lives (within the Askewniverse).

Just a thought
