You may be correct I will check on that again, however, I don't believe that one must own the original material if it is for private use...Music videos are not public domain, however it is not illegal to tape a video off of VH1 and watch it again for personal use
Now, making copyrighted material available for others is a differnet ball of wax...I suggest if you use Napster, you disable others from downloading off your hard drive
