I'm just saying when it comes to music recordings, since they are availiable to be purchased by the general public through a many means, it is illegal to own an MP3 of a song that you have not purchased an original copy.
The copyright laws reguarding music were re-written when recordable media hit the market many many years ago, don't recall if it was when cassette's or when reel to reel came out or recordable 8-track (don't laugh, they exsist).
