Some people just care far too much about Star Wars.
No matter what George Lucas does, it won't change the fact that the first trilogy is a classic. He can toy with it and add shit til the cows come home, it's still going to have a smirking Harrison Ford, a poorly spoken Carrie Fisher, a whiney Mark Hammil, and a befuddled Alec Guinness. It's still going to be the same damn movie.
If he wants to wrap it up with the last 3 episodes, I'd say more power to him. There's nothing greater on this planet than melodramatic eye candy with sword and gun fights, and that's exactly what Star Wars gives us.
