Seriously, everyone is so excited about this movie, why? Is it really going to be good? For all of us non-comic folks it just looks kind of silly. I mean, that one villain with all of the coats and whatnot looks almost as goofy as the League of Extraordinary Gentleman bad guy. I admit, the image of Hellboy looks pretty iconic and everything, but this Abe Sapien looks a little dorky (and is going to be voiced by David Hyde Pierce, WTF?!) and Selma Blair isn't anything to necessarily write home about. That corpse that gets carried around looks comical, is he supposed to be? I mean, is he going to be like C3P0 on Chewbacca? I admit that I kind of liked Guillermo del Toro's Blade 2, but I even saw the trailer for Hellboy at Comic-Con and it didn't blow me over. I don't have impossibly high expectations or anything, but it could just be a "The Avengers" thing all over again. At least that's what the movie feels like. Is this just going to be one of those things that everyone who's read it gets really excited and then it comes out, the audience doesn't connect, it's a failure and those of us who never read the books are like, "What did you expect, it looked campy?" But I guess te studio is pushing for it, releasing it pre-summer. I do want to see a movie with Nazis in it again though.
