If you really don't know what to make of it, I wouldn't sweat it too much and just wait and see if you like the flick or not. Or if you're too cheap like me to shell out cash for something unknown wait to see what the reviews are like, what your friend thinks, if it breaks any records or anything, etc. etc.
On a sidenote though I think David Hyde Pierce is hillarious. Niles is the best part of FRASIER. And I thought he was great as Sideshow Bob's brother on the Simpsons as well. He was funny in WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER too, now that I mention it. But I digress.
To sum it up, I'm a comics fan, but have never once read an issue of HELLBOY but it just sounds great, the pictures I've seen make me really excited, and I for one, just can't wait.
