1. How did I have that much at such a young age? Basically through various birthdays, etc. where I received money from relatives. My family is very generous w/throwing money around as gifts. And since I was so young, I didn't need it, so in my account it stayed.
2. Just because my parents were taking care of me then does not mean I do not/did not have the right to take offense that they took something of mine WITHOUT saying anything. If back then they said we're going to use some of your money to buy a car (which btw was a piece of crap '72 Plymouth Satellite), I would have had no problem with it whatsoever. But they chose to go behind my back with it.
With the logic that I should not complain since they provided for me, you could easily say I should not complain that they take money from paychecks I earned at various jobs. Whether the money's given to me or earned by me, it's still mine. If someone needs it for whatever reason, the least they could have done was say something. So shut yer yappin'.
