Hey all! I have a question, maybe some of you comic fans can help me with:

My son is 8 yrs old and has been obsessed with Spiderman since he could talk. Now I am no comic book fan, but I am a huge fan of supporting what my kid is into. I never bought him any of the books because I felt that he was too young to take care of them properly. He's older now, though and I think the time is right. So where do we start? And specifically, what would be age appropriate? Is there any series in particular that would be good to start an 8 year old off with, or for that matter, any series we should stay away from?

Now keep in mind, he's not a typical 8 yr old kid. He's a heavy reader. He's read all four Harry Potter books on his own, which I think would be a feat for some young teens let alone an 8 yr old.

I'm also buying a DVD player as a "family gift" for Christmas and would like to buy the Spiderman DVD, as I heard there is an interview with Stan Lee on it. I think the kid would be floored listening to someone whose made a lifetime career out of doing what he does for fun. I know you guys must have seen it by now and can tell me if it's clean enough for him. I only wonder because I know the interview is done by Kevin (one of the kings of dick and fart jokes) ; )

If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it.
Check back later.

the peach
