I don't know. Saying he was "out of town" doesn't seem like a good excuse for his absence. If they had put him in pre-transformation, and made him change in a later film (possible 2 or 3), that would have been much more acceptable. But, so long as he makes it into the next one, I'll be okay with the whole Beast issue.

Well, had they made Iceman an adult, they would have to have made him part of the team. Doing that would add too much to the script, making it too long (and possible making it too boring for people to enjoy). I think they made him a teenager solely to avoid that.

I agree here. If they had just told the story of Wolverine joining, that would have been a lot better. Even if Rogue had remained a teenager and Wolverine had just met her in passing, it would have been an acceptable plot.

: This really did get stuck in my craw. I read an interview with Stan Lee and he really prided himself on not giving his characters religions. He really wanted to make them like everyday people so that kids could relate to any character. I mean, he's already a minority, so minority kids could relate to his feelings of being an outsider, and take sympathy in his anger, but most kids have no understanding of the Holocaust, and it would make him less relatable (is that a word? it is now...) to, say, someone that didn't watch his parents get taken away to a Concentration Camp where they were brutally murdered by a sick degenerate that was bent on world domination.
You do have a point, and I commend you for it. But I still believe Magneto's being Jewish added something to the character that may or may not have been present in the comic books.
: I know. I could think of many better villains, that they could have even got Ray Parks to play. The only thing I liked was that they not only gave him a cooler costume than he had in the comics, but he had one of the coolest outfits of the bunch. And on a side note, I hope the install the little metal thingies in Wolverine's hand by the next movie so it won't hurt so much when he brings out his claws.
Yes, he did have a cool outfit. And I agree about the metal things on Wolverine's hands. They should definitely be added soon.

It would also have given Sabretooth more of a background in the film, making him a deeper character than what he was.

I guess you and I are two of the very limited number of people who actually liked "Mystery Men". You're right in that they should be more distinct, but it's not a very big thing that they're not.
