He can be Holden's best friend...but he's still as queer as can be.
Doesn't mean he's sleeping with Holden fer Chrissakes.
He's clearly hooked up with Hooper, Banky never did anything halfway, went straight (heh) for the most flamboyant fellow he could find. It was a strong choice for the character
There's no conflict whatsoever between Banky realizing his sexuality and his friendship with his former bizniss partner...although how close friends they really were by the time of J&SBSB is doubtful in my mind. The B-man seemed to have pretty much moved on. Holden seemed to be out of the loop in more ways then merely having sold the rights to the characters.
