So, I just saw the movie, and while I did have a few good chuckles I
am overall very disappointed. This movie is, in my opinion, extremely
self-indulgent. All I got from it was that you, Mr. Smith, now have a
major movie studio at your disposal with plenty of resources and
top-name talent willing to be overly self-deprecating. Unfortunately,
there was really nothing fresh, nothing new, nothing even that
interesting. In lieu of having something, *anything*, to say, the movie
took cheap pot-shots at itself -- over and over and over again.
This is actually rather sad because I hold you and the View
Askewniverse in such high regard. And while I understand that all of
your projects can't be major cinematic experiences, this was
particularly pointless. I just pray that you haven't become that which
you lampoon, namely, Corporate Hollywood.
