: : From my personal experience, wondering whether or not I could handle the death of my child never came into my mind.

: i have two children, and although thoughts of their mortality do often enter into my head, you have to banish them and just enjoy what you have, or you'll be paralyzed with fear.

: when my first daughter was born, my first thought was not 'what ever will i do if she is taken from me?' but a much more american and paternal 'i will kill anyone who tries to harm you.' when my second daughter was born i thought to myself 'wtf? why arent you a boy?'

Oh, I never said that it doesn't enter my mind now, my point was just that it didn't enter into my mind when considering whether or not to have children.
My daughter is still very young... I think it's going to be very interesting (maybe not in a good way) to see how I react the first time I perceive someone to be trying to hurt her.
LOL, but you've got to be careful about writing down that 'why aren't you a boy' shit. You never know when that might come back to haunt you.
