My freshman year, the biggest thing I noticed was that every course basically wanted you to forget everything you ever learned in high school. All those years of HS down a tube when you get the harsh reality that everything has more than one angle, there is no black and white, and nothing is 100%.

So I guess the major topic of the first year was to learn how to criticize, which is something they do NOT encourage in my old high school as much.

Besides that, every major life lesson or usefull skill I got out of college was not in a classroom.

And a quick side note: All those high school jackasses that cut classes or didn't even try...wouldn't you figure that they're the type that would want college most? To get out of their house and be free to do all the things they like most? Yet they never gave it an honest effort, and now they're pumping my gas.
