: Still, it's an action game with RPG elements, but not an RPG.
: It's the old "Sports Games as RPGs due to stats" argument.
: I wrote a whole article on this for www.thejadedgamer.net that I should probably fish out for you folks.
: Tony Hawk is a Sports Title so the stats are expected, but the fact that you have to work your ass off for those stat bumps give it a bit of an experience twist that adds the RPG element.
: It's tricky.

-Well, I was thinking of it as a role playing game because you are the character. You name them, and design everything about them. And, you follow along as the character progresses from a street skater, to an amatuer, to a pro. There are decisions you have to make, although they don't have a huge impact. I didn't really even think of stats as being an RPG necesity.

-I am not arguing with you here. It is definitely not in the same category as Final Fantasy though, so I wouldn't ever say it was a true RPG.
