the most depressing movie I have ever seen. Schindler's list didn't have anything on this, believe me. I've been going through some hard times myself, and if i knew it would have been that depressing and disturbing, i would have passed on that tonight. BUt what an amazing picture.

THe 3 leads are incredible, especially Naomi Watts. All deserve oscars. It's told in a very wierd style. We get small scenes that go back and forth in time. We are essental watching a movie about 3 peoples conection, but its told in such a scrambled way, it takes 20 minutes to figure out what the hell is going on. Its like, you know those dvd chapters? What if there was a way to "scramble" the choices. Its like that. If Memento and Magnolia had a retarded baby, thats what the structure of 21 grams would be.

BUt it all makes sense. Its not confusing or fustrating, it just works great.

To give away any of the story would be to give the entire thing away. it deals with hope, loss, pain, suffering and redemption. The film seemed long to me, (its only two hours) but was never slow. It's a great picture, do go out of your way to see it.

The only warning I gotta give on this is do not, and i repeat DO NOT see it if you have trouble watching depressing movies. I know my mom wouldn't have been able to handle this. There is minor gore, so its nothing like that. BUt the way it looks. Its so real. So vivid. If you have been through an ordeal recently, with death or sickness in your family, just don't go. Scene after scene after scene after scene of the most intense emotional trama I have ever seen in characters in film. It's stunning. Almost too graphic. I had to look away during numerous scenes of this. It was that powerful.
