I just got home from the taping of The Tonight Show. I had managed
to swindle tickets from my good friend Jay Leno. My wife (Deanna)
and I sat front row center in the Carthage seats. Not sure how much
air time we'll get, but I was the guy who saw the Paris Hilton tape, and
Jay makes fun of me, saying I have a mullet, which I don't, but with my
hair pulled back, I sorta look like I do.
Anyway, Kev comes out and jokes with Jay. Kev admits that he has
seen the Paris tape. Then Jay comments that I have, and they pull
me on stage. Kev looks at me and says, "Aren't you the dude that
made Kisses And Caroms?" I answer yes, then we begin to chat
about my movie.
Kev then introduces Roadside and the bit runs. First he pimps The
Stash as the worlds best comic store. Walt and Kev discuss some of
the Gay movie props in the store. Then we see all the fans get
exploited. I saw some familiar faces in these shots. It might be you.
Next, Kev does an interesting bit with Silent Bob in the Bong mobile.
And to finish it up, he steals Harley's college fund.
The Quick Stop was the next destination where we get to meet Kev's
old boss. He interviews her, and they show clips from Clerks. He
asks if that stuff actually happens, and get this, she says no. Kev
apparently lied and made the Clerks story up.
Next comes the funniest stuff. A trip to a Wild Animal Park where Kev
learns the in's and out's of running the park. Funny stuff involving a
water hose and a monkey. I'll keep ya in suspense.
The bit ends. Kev leaves and the rest of the show plays out.
Rodman was OK. He had nothing to promote, but he brought his kid
out. WOW, get a load of his hair. A comic performed, and he was
funny. Then Elvis Costello performed a boring slow song
accompanied by a piano. Like he has a great piano solo voice?
After the show, Jen, Kevin, Deanna and I grabbed a bite to eat and
discussed our next movie.
OK, maybe it didn't happen quite that way. But most of the above is
true. Watch tonight and you'll learn what is. Also keep an eye out for
the sexy guy with long black hair in the front row, next to the hottie.
