So your point is that it isn't a mistake, but it's intentional? It just seems a little weird to think that their training would consistent of feeding them lines to yell at recruits. I liked it a lot better thinking that Hartman was just a great improviser.
:Even though An Officer and a Gentelman is about Navy officer candidate training Louis Gossets character is a Marine Corp drill instructor.Gunny Hartman is also a Marine Corp drill instructor.The only place to become one of those is on Parris Island S.C.They were trained in the exact same place and they were taught the exact same way to instruct recruits.I do realize it's only a movie,but thats pretty consistent storytelling.
