but if you like it, then you should definitely see the original. if there were any inside jokes, i didn't catch them. as for the actual events thing - the premise for the movie is based extremely loosely on actual events.

there was a guy named ed gein who lived in plainfield, wisconsin back in the 50's. he killed women and made costumes and furniture out of their body parts, and ate some of them. but he never used a chainsaw, and didn't have accomplices.
