This is the first I've ever heard of that & I look into horror flicks alot (especially zombie ones). This is a new film.

Sort of, but not really. They're similar, but I don't think anyone would think one was copying off of the other. "The Omega Man" was a remake of "The Last Man on Earth" (which was the film adaption of Richard Matheson's "I Am Legend". "The Last Man on Earth" was a big influence for Romero's "Night of the Living Dead").
