I just want to warn them sometimes about all the fake stuff 90% of them buy.

Now, I'm not a girl who can afford a real Prada or Fendi by any stretch of my imagination, so I understand wanting something that looks somewhat close to the real thing - but I have seen some tourists SO taken in by very bad knockoffs. I always wonder if it's my place to say anything, though. That, and I used to work three blocks from the Macy's on 34th. Just walking through the crowds to get to my bus irked me. I wanted to be like "It's a Macy's people!" Same store anywhere else! Now I work a stone's throw from the NBC studios, and this summer concert series is killing me - this morning it was the Goo Goo Dolls, and while I think the lead singer IS good looking, I can't be down with screaming fans with accents.

Whats funny is the reverse though...I leave the state to visit people and I get requests to pronounce words like "coffee" and "dog". I have probably the least thick new york accent one could have..but someone from Tennesee seems to think I know what the "streets" are like. No offense to those from the TN, of course.
