So he might have read this and there is a remote possibility he'll respond. But probably not, so I'll let you know that when I asked a similar question, he let me know that he thinks he's plenty successful, has the respect of his peers and plenty 'o cash, and is doing what he wants to do. And that's the definition of success.
Sure, he could try a bigger budget film but then he'd have to sell out his principles. Yo, he was OFFERED the Superman flick, but he would have had to write some weird Superman that no comics fan would recognize, just to please some Warner suits. I mean, what should he do - stick his nose up Bruckheimer's butt just to be on the next explosion filled (and plothole filled) summer blockbuster?
