i just thought that scene was very out of place. it was already pretty obvious how demented he was, so the scene was just totally unneccesary in my opinion. didn't really scare anyone in the theater though. everyone laughed because it was just so fucking random. Mark Romanek has done some great music videos for nine inch nails, but i honestly can't say much for this one.
