I'm pretty slow, and I don't read the boards too often so someone will have to tell me if anyone has made that comparison. I don't think there was a big controversy or anything about the artist being cast as God in Dogma, but the Jersey Girl situation seems like the same thing to me. I hate her music and assumed she couldn't act, but was presently surprised by her performance. She was a great casting call. And if I'd known Smith's work like I do now, I probably would never have assumed she was a bad decision. Lopez is probably going to be the same way. Oh, and don't say that Morrissette (sp?) had a small part, she was God for God's sake. Sorry if I'm repeating. If I am, just considering this seconding the motion. Later.
