It's very good (witht he exception of the first two seasons) at pulling off comedy/action/drama all at once. The last two seasons were hearwrenching and showed that Sarah Michelle Gellar actually can act quite well, when forced to.
I'm glad you liked the Scooby movie. Good kids movies are too few and far between.
