In all fairness, she had nothing to work with in SCOOBY DOO (or in any movie she's done, with the arguable exception of CRUEL INTENTIONS). Lillard and Cardellini at least had distinctive character traits to emulate. There's simply nothing about Daphne to glom onto. Although I do agree that she was miscast. Cute as Gellar is, Cardellini looked better, and Velma can't be the hot one in an ordered universe. They needed an Alicia Witt.

And she's done some remarkable work on BUFFY over the years. She's shown great versatility. The Season 2 set just came out. You should grab it. It's amazing. You probably just caught three lackluster episodes.
