I wasn't a big fan of either of the two Ford Jack Ryan movies ... this one had a lot of pros and a lot of cons, but the script moved along pretty well and there was a lot of well-done, entertaining bits. Thankfully, it didn't try to be too heavy with things. Freeman and all the supporting people are solid, natch, but the big surprise is that Affleck nails Ryan, cold. Easily his best performance ... as the lead actor in a big-budget Hollywood flick, that is. I suspect people who say they like it like him and people who say they don't don't.
