I'm a Canadian. Born and raised here, as were my parents and my grandparents and at least one generation before them. I'm not going to get into a debate here as to the nature - or even the existence - of Canadian culture, but I will say that I live here and I like it well enough and that for better or worse, bottom line is, I'm Canadian.
But I also think that part of being Canadian is being a citizen of the Empire. An outmoded ideal, perhaps, but I honestly subscribe to the idea that being Canadian means being a part of the British Empire, or Commonwealth, or whatever the hell they're calling it these days. The Queen of England is the Queen of Canada, and she's my Queen as well
