what can the officials and the doctors do besides medicate and arrest the child (or, in some cases, the parent(s))? It's the parents job to teach manners and respect, but every single one of us, regardless of when we went or where we went to elementary school, had at least one crazy kid. The one that you all thought of, possibly for the first time in a long time, when you read this article. And I know that, in most cases, the problem is not that the parents aren't there or are unloving, but that they are completely blind to any faults their child may have. Thus, why would they need discipline? They're perfect. It's the teachers and other students and police and doctors and everybody else who's wrong.

Notice that the mother 'had no comment'. But I bet that, prior to this, when he acted up, she caused a big fuss of commenting to make sure that he wouldn't get into any serious trouble.

Now, I'm not one to believe that teachers should be able to force kids to share things they don't want to share ... but I'd bet dollars to dog nuts that he's an only child (reading between the lines that the 'mother' had no comment, the father may not be around, but that's definitely at least a little of me grafting the crazy kid I knew onto this one), and that his mother was very interested in spoiling the crazy fuck.
