: I don't want to say juvenile, but its so NOT what we are. I have been with the guy five years. We had a union ceremony at Kings Dominion and a honeymoon in California. Boyfriends are the guys I went out with for a few months, not that there were that many.

: But until the laws change, he isn't my husband. So I call him my life partner. Partner for short. I dont say life partner cause that sounds too sappy, although thats what I feel most of the time talking about him. It just seems to make more sense then calling him my boyfriend. Although we still pass IM's back and forth in class.

: Adam

We honeymooned there, and it's beautiful, but it rains almost every day.

I love commitment ceremonies. Swear, I would have married a woman if she asked me to have a commitment ceremony because I was so afraid of having a wedding. Weddings can strangle the love out of people.
I adopted the best out of my friend's ceremonies, and let my grandma call the court referee "reverend," and it went ok.

I hope you get to be married soon. In the meantime, Minnesota is not a bad place for domestic partners. The insurance company I work for lets you carry your partner on your insurance, which I guess is rare. Slowly, but surely, the world will catch up to reality.
