there's a difference between popular and selling

out, ESPECIALLY in music. Look at the Offspring. They went from Ignition, which fucking rocked, to bubblegum bullshit Fly for a white guy. This is not being popular, this is SELLING OUT. They left Epitaph for sony becuase of the paycheck.

Then there are Bands like Bad Religion who's fan base steadily increases as they reach more people, not through commercially acceptable songs but by sending a message and staying true to their roots. This is being popular.

I used to like the Offspring, now I don't...but I will always love Bad Religion.
