You know what I hate punk but I wouldn't be so stuiped to say that it had no effect on the general direction of music in the last 30 years. Fuck... Nirvana credits alotta punk bands as influences to his musical background. Second.... punk is about teen angst and rebellion. Sure that whole underground element applies but no matter what you listen to it revolves around that.
Last, if no one cares about punk then why in the fuck are you writing about it? You sure cared enough or it had enough of an effect on you for you to make a post. They say art is something that evokes an emotion response and as far as I'm concerned punk does just that. And sheot bizzznatch... I'd take any punk band with something to say before I'd listen to a band whose musical talents are lacking and the only way you can enjoy it is if you have a 8x10 glossy in front of you.
