I'm glad that Mr. Mandel wasn't on the plane. Of course, our prayers go out to those whose families were.
A friend of mine, who normally is a dead hilarious, crack-up guy to be around, said earlier tonight that there's never been a time when he wanted less to be funny when people needed it the most.
It just really saddens me to think that Harley will grow up right there on the Shore, but when she looks across the river, for her the empty space on the skyline won't seem horribly wrong, and that she won't understand why that view affects her parents the way it will. I myself was just thinking earlier about sometime in the future, when I'm driving or taking the train up to New York, how when I look out the window to the right, those towers just won't be there... I still can't grasp it, really.
Our lives are never going to be the same. I really hope that we as a country can all get together and get through this.
