what is showy and arty? Art that you don't find stimulating? Art

I loved requium. I watched it twice in a row. And the second time i realized that aronofsky is knows how minds work, and has a more subtle goal with his movies that I cant quite figure out yet. When you watch a movie, he knows where your eyes are going to be the entire time, and uses this intuition and ability to play mind games. Its intriguingly fun to watch.
