And that's basically a reasonable point, in kind of a minor way.

That said, I don't think many critics do – or many of us would if we were professional critics – cross-reference every note they make on the film, confirming who each actor played, etc., when they know from "memory" how we saw it.

I'd agree if I believed he was unsure and neglected to check his facts, but I suspect he just misunderstood and it didn't occur to him to check.

That said, your point is reasonable and reasonably made. I'm sure a quick look will show that's not the way most people here are handling it.
