Look at Robocop 3. You can't write a film like you would a comic book. Superman IV works well as a comic (unedited) but as a film it doesn't hold a candle. I don't even like the comic novel 'The Dark Knight Returns.' I dug out my old comic books last night. I used to be seriously into it back in the late 80's. My collection sucks though, only decent things I have are Wolverine #1 from 1988, Web of Spiderman #1, Punisher War Journal #6. I looked at 'The Dark Knight Returns' and it still sucks, no matter what Stephen King says on the back cover. The story is poor and the art is bad. Maybe i'll get back into comics, although it's a very bad time right now isn't it? I used to go to a small store called "Mr. Munster's Comic Crypt" in Easton, Pennsylvania. That place is gone. The only place around here now is a place called "Dreamscape." It's just not like the old days, though. I have one comic from 1981, the Incredible Hulk. In the middle there's an advertisement for NBC's new Saturday Morning Lineup... the Smurf, Spiderman and His Amazing Friends, Shazam... wow I miss those days man.
