Not covering my ass, it just depends on the writer. I've seen a movie that constantly made pop culture/movie references, and even blatantly revealed that they (the characters) were in a movie, and it's one of my favorite flicks of all time because it was well done(Spaceballs). Your script did not do a good job with any pop culture references....maybe one, but I have blocked out most of your script so I wouldn't be able to name it, can you?
