Kev, presuming that "Holden" isn't some obscure Smith family name and that you're a "Catcher in the Rye" fan, just wanted to get your take on this article from today's Washington Post, the gist of which is this:

After years of right-wing yahoos trying to ban "Catcher in the Rye" from school reading lists on baseless obscenity grounds, schools across the U.S. are now dropping the book because it is not "multicultural" enough. I am posting the link to the article below but here is just one killer quote:

"In other words, Holden Caulfield is a white, privileged male," said Michael Moore, director of the literature commission for the National Council of Teachers of English. "In our very diverse schools, the drive to incorporate very multicultural reading is here to stay."
