It's been a while since I've watched the film but doesn't Alison admit at the end that she did nothing to get detention - she just had nothing better to do on a Saturday morning than to go to school... of course it probably goes deeper than that as it's my guess it's a cry for her parent's attention (presuming that it's her parents who drive her there)... but psychological motives aside - she did nothing!!!
