It was filmed at a real school at night (you can see it is dark outside when Bender is running down the hall).
Continuity error - That little card in the filing cabinet drawer Vernon has open keeps moving.
For a poor kid, John has an extremely expensive looking amount of 'dubage'
The library was actually a gym and they had to make the upper floor themselves. (I think).
Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall were both 16 when it was made, Alley Sheedy 24 and Judd - 27!
