The Mayans used to sacrafice virgins to the Gods in hope of a good Harvest. If you were one of the Hymenally-intact, religion kinda sucked.

So, if the book's cover is purty, the book must be good! Yes. Umm. No. And I have read some accounts of people who had negative scientology experiences,but they don't get on Entertainment Tonight,so they don't count.

Its never stopped people from bashing Catholicism,Judaism or Islam. Most people blame the Catholic Church for every shitty thing from the year 1,000 until about 1950. The Church caused the Crusades(it did'nt), The church caused the Spanish Inquizition(It didn't,the King and Queen of Spain ordered it), The Church did'nt stop the Holocaust(Yea,like Hitler was gonna listen to the Pope. He was out of his fucking mind. And he sent lots of Priests and Nuns to the Camps,too,so I don't think a reprimand from that prick Pius would have done shite). And Judaism, The poor Jews have been treated like shit since Cyrus the Great kicked their asses. The Romans were okay, but they were still foreign rulers who acted prickish alot. The English,Spanish,Germans and Eastern Block all have histories of blaming the jews for everything and treating them like shite. And we all know of the Holocaust. And Islam is the newest whipping boy of the puddish. Everyone who follows Islam is either a militant 5%'er nut(Like RZA) or they want to blow things up. Nowhere in the Qu'ran does it say blowing people up is okay, but everyone who follows Islam gets a sideways look when they are in an Airport. Religion is always gonna be in the position to be mistreated, it has to be. Scientology has gotten off pretty lite in the mainstream culture,and it has done some bad stuff, but most of us have no idea about the backgrounds of these stories, we hear little snippets and all the sudden become Rush Limbaugh moron prognosticators. If it does'nt effect you and you have no fucking clue as to what the belief system involves or the what and why of situations, its best to keep your fucking trap shut and not be looked at as a fucking slak-jawed Mongoloid by everyone who has a clue. I made some jokes about Scientology before, But I've read up on it and I know it does'nt effect those who are'nt Scientologists so I don't care what they do. Now Mormons, I've done papers on them and they are wacky,and I lived near them to, so I have legitimate gripes against them. But I don't go out of my way to fuck with them, even if they went out of their way to fuck with me and I have to tell them I still think Jesus did'nt return from the dead to hang out in the Midwest, no matter what Joey Joe Joe Smith thought. Religion is a fine and dandy thing but it becomes a lightning rod because everyone feels that anything bad done in the name of religion or by a member of a religion means it is evil, and that is so fucking moronic.
