Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash

SOLD OUT!

UPDATE: Resale tickets:

All resale tickets have been sold. Thank you very much.

Posted by Vincent on September 22, 2000:

The number to call is [SOLD OUT!]

We will begin taking calls at 1 PM E.S.T. on Sunday, September 24th.

Ticket price is $55 each.

Payment may be made via Visa or Mastercard ONLY.

There is a 2-ticket limit per phone call.

Voice mail and call-waiting is SUPPOSED to be shut off on Sunday, but if by chance the phone company screws up and leaves it on, let it be known that we will be ignoring both. We will NOT be checking voice mail AT ALL, nor will be pick up for call waiting (again, both features should be turned off, but mistakes do happen), so DO NOT leave any of your info on the voice mail if by chance you happen to get through to it. It will do you no good to do so. In fact, we'll probably be so cross that you disregarded my notice not to do so here that we'll ban you from any and all future View Askew events, just like we've banned the E-Jay deadbeats.

Good luck, and let the phone-calling, credit card-maxing out madness begin this Sunday!

Tickets for Vulgarthon 2000 will go on sale next Sunday (September 24th) at 1 PM Eastern Standard time. Tickets will be sold via the phone- the phone number to call will be posted next Friday (September 22nd). There is a limit of 2 (two) tickets per phone call, and payment may be made via Visa or Mastercard ONLY. The price is $55 per ticket. You MUST speak with an authorized Vulgarthon representative live- if you get a busy signal, keep calling. If you get voice mail (which SHOULD be shut off that day, but this is just in case the phone company messes up and leaves it on), hang up and try again because we will NOT be checking the voice mail. When the tickets are sold out, we will post said information on the WWWBoard, and stop taking phone calls. There are 430 tickets available.

When you call and order your tickets, you will be given an order number. To pick up your tickets, have the order number handy and they will be available for pick up at Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash (35 Broad Street, Red Bank, NJ) starting on Friday, October 27th (the Saturday before the event), through the Monday morning of the event (Monday, October 30th). The store hours for those days are:

Friday, October 27th- 11AM until 7 PM

Saturday, October 28th- 11 AM until 6 PM

Sunday, October 29th- 12 PM until 5 PM

Monday, October 30th- store will be open at 8 AM for all you stragglers who didn't get your asses to Red Bank over the weekend to pick up your tickets.

The event will begin at 11 AM at the Clearview Cinemas on White Street in Red Bank, NJ. We will begin seating at 10 AM. The line up is as follows (specific schedules for each theater to be announced soon)-

DRAWING FLIES

A BETTER PLACE

DOGMA (Cannes version with extra footage)

BIG HELIUM DOG

*SURPRISE TITLE*!!!

We're keeping the identity of the *SURPRISE TITLE* well, a surprise. We think you guys will be pretty fucking jazzed when you see what it is, though.

And that's that. To reiterate, the order line phone number will be posted on Friday, September 22nd, and the ticket selling madness begins at 1 PM Eastern Standard time on Sunday, September 24th. Good luck!

Vincent

And that's the news so far. And now for some frequently asked questions:

Q. Wait a second.. Vulgarthon 2000 is going to be held on October 30th? That's a MONDAY?! WHY?

A. Vulgarthon 2000 will indeed be held on a Monday. This is mainly because most movie theaters cannot be rented out on a day which lands in the lucrative weekend period. Not only that, but it is impossible to rent out the theater located in Red Bank on a weekend. So plan to take a weekday off.

Q. How will seating be set up at the theatre?

A. Vincent says:

Okay, so we've come up with a schedule for each theater, and here goes:

Theater 1-

11:00 AM- Introduction

11:15 AM- DOGMA

2:15 PM- DRAWING FLIES

4:15 PM- A BETTER PLACE

-INTERMISSION-

8:00 PM- *SURPRISE!!!*

9:45 PM- BIG HELIUM DOG

Theater 2-

11:15 AM- Introduction

11:30 AM- DRAWING FLIES

1:30 PM- A BETTER PLACE

3:30 PM- DOGMA

-INTERMISSION-

8:00 PM- BIG HELIUM DOG

10:00 PM- *SURPRISE!!!*

Another thing re: theater seating- while seats will not be asigned, theaters will- tickets 1 through 270 will be in theater 1, and 271 through 430 will be in theater 2. We're doing this because ALL seats will be filled, and this will cut down on confusion when it comes to seating. We're renting a sound system for each theater, so nobody is going to be jipped in terms of technical presentation of the films. The only difference is that one theater is smaller than the other.

Q. How much will this event cost me?

A. As stated above, ticket prices will be $55 per ticket.

Q. Where is Vulgarthon 2000 being held?

A. Vulgarthon 2000 will be held at the Clearview Cinemas on White Street in Red Bank, NJ. This is literally right around the corner from Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash.

Q. Will there be a limit to how many tickets I can purchase?

A. Due to the high demand for tickets, there will be a limit of two tickets per person. The entire event will also have a cap of 430 people.

Q. How long will Vulgarthon 2000 last? Is it an entire day event?

Vulgarthon 2000 will be en entire day event, beginning at 11am. Organizer Vincent Pereira also adds, "After the first three flicks, there will be an intermission running around 90 minutes so's everybody can go out for a walk and eat or poop or, better yet, go to the Stash and buy, buy, BUY!!! I'm anticipating that, with the "intermission" included as well as Q&As after each flick, the event will end at around 11:30 PM."

Q. Which movies will be shown at Vulgarthon 2000?

A. Vincent says:

The line up is as follows (specific schedules for each theater to be announced soon)-

DRAWING FLIES

A BETTER PLACE

DOGMA (Cannes version with extra footage)

BIG HELIUM DOG

*SURPRISE TITLE*!!!

We're keeping the identity of the *SURPRISE TITLE* well, a surprise. We think you guys will be pretty fucking jazzed when you see what it is, though.

Q. Wait a sec... wasn't Bryan Johnson's recently acquired film 'Vulgar' supposed to be played as well?

A. Yes it was... it was announced as part of the line up way back when this festival was being planned. However....

Kevin says:

'Vulgar' won't be part of the lineup. Sorry, folks. A condition of its pickup was that we keep it under wraps until theatrical release.

So go see it when it hits theaters in the Summer of 2001 instead.

For more info on 'Vulgar' please see here and it's website here.
