Kevin, my name's Matt (I'm from Pt. Pleasant Boro, NJ, but I'm now at college in Indiana).
I would NEVER tell you how to direct or shoot anything, but, after a check of the imdb, I've noticed that there has only been one film shot on this campus (Purdue U) ever. It was a religious propaganda film "Plan Is Divine; The Gifts Are Awesome, The (1996)".
The scary part is that this is such an old place, an only one film has been made here (and it's not even a real one).
What I'm getting at is - if you need a place that you can't find in New Jersey for any future project, Purdue U. may be able to suit your needs.
Red Bricks, art deco, and nerds as far as the eye can see. Shoot here please. Even in 2 years. Even if it's for a library scene.
I swear I'm not being selfish here. I ask (beg)you because this town needs something new to get behind.
West Lafayette and Purdue easily get the least coverage of all major college towns. This is the 11th largest school in the country technically, but it does not feel that way. No one on the east coast (or west coast, I hear), including my friends and family knows where Purdue is. Sometimes that is cool, though (people think its a private, ivy league type school because of the lack of geographical name; in reality it's the biggest school in Indiana).
Sorry for begging like a moron, but it's really boring here sometimes - something is missing here.
