Hi.Perhaps this question has no easy answer. I wonder what your viewpoint is on what elements make a good film? While I have my own opinions on the matter, I can't help but question my own judgements as to what are the most important aspects. There has always been a trend for producing 'popular' films that appeal to a mass audience. However, it seems that lately there has been a new appreciation for independant films, probably in great credit to your growing success. One of my biggest concerns, especially since I am considering filmmaking as a career(with pessimism, I'm trying to remain practical), is that a film should not only be artistic but also open our eyes to our cultural illusionment, in partcular with the media.Any thoughts on this?
Also, does 'making it' create any problems for you to achieve the kinds of films you want to - in short does it limit your creativity or expand it?
Any answers will be appreciated. Thanks
Oh, P.S.- I've been watching a lot of Fellini, he's had a great influence of my thinking of films, and lately I think I've been overcritical on many of the films I've seen. Anyone out there ever suffer from major couch critic disease?
