I'm sure all of you have heard about all this crap with Ben and Matt possibly not being eligable for Original Screenplay because Matt wrote it as a one-act play in college, and if it was ever performed, it would have been an Adapted Screenplay. Then there is the story about how they bought the story from someone else. Basically, a bunch of fuckers are trying to rain on Ben and Matt's parade. I don't buy any of it. But check out this little nugget of wisdom...

I was at the Rainbow Room today for an Entertainment Weekly Oscar Luncheon. There was a panel of the editors, film reviewers and some other bigwigs from EW talking about who they think will win. When the screenplay category came up, they didn't mention any of the above rumors.. They only said how people think Kevin Smith wrote the screenplay. Obviously, this is a load of horse dung. But I guess people are actually taking this accusation seriously. Jesus fuck, man.

Overall, these guys were totally talking out of their asses. It was tough to not stand up and say, "YOU MORONS! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!!" One lady on the panel was saying how she is a member of the Leo got robbed category, therefore she thinks Gloria Stuart deserves the Supporting Actress statue. HUH??!?! Well, I took a shit this afternoon, so I'm hoping the new David Bowie album is good. That makes about as much sense.

And why couldn't one person mention how 'In the Company of Men' was totally robbed?? That's all I ask.

When the Leo thing came up, they mentioned how only 5 people can be nominated, so some folks are going to be overlooked, such as Mark Wahlberg and Kevin Kline. HELLO???? What about Ian Holm? I also think Aaron Eckhart (In the Company of Men), Sean Penn (She's So Lovely), Samuel L. Jackson (Jackie Brown) and Philip Baker Hall (Hard Eight) are all way more deserving than Leo, but I won't get into that right now.

On the flip side, they did serve some fucking great eats!
