Kevin:

I was disappointed in the box office, too, but I noticed that they ('Max?) only hyped it (TV ads, especially) for the first week, then nada. Maybe another week of TV ads woulda helped?

Anyway, here's what I've wanted to say to you since I saw JG:

My mom died when I was 3. It's been just my Dad and I, with some help from the grandparents, for my entire life. My dad never remarried; in fact, he promised my Mom's parents he wouldn't. He's still as in love with her today as when he married her, thirty-five years ago. Probably not the healthiest thing in the world, but he's never been big on therapy.

The speech in JG where Ollie talks to Gertie in the crib brought tears to my eyes. While more eloquent than my Dad, I heard his voice in that speech, and for that, I thank you. I loved the movie, and I'll be eternally grateful that you made it.

You keep making 'em, and I'll keep watching 'em.

Jeff

P.S. Fuck the critics! Buncha cold-hearted bastards...
