: : Though I do mention it as proof that Limp Bizkit has always sucked. Any time a band releases a cover song as a single, it's because they've got no talent and want to ride on the coat tails of those who do.
: Like The Rolling Stones? And The Beatles? And Springsteen? And Eric Clapton? And Run DMC? And U2?
I didn't put into words what I intended, really, but it's almost the same as before. I'd prefer the above to be, basically, when the well's gone dry.
However, three more rules apply:
This one covers only the Stones and Clapton, as far as I know. If there's more than forty years since the song was originally released.
Also, if paying tribute to another artist (living or dead) and tribute albums where that's the theme.
The final rule is touchy... the genre needs to be completely different than the original. So, it needs to be a huge departure from the original, like the reggae covers on the 50 First Dates album (though loads of those sucked, too).
Run DMC is overrated.
I hate U2.
Springsteen... well, the Boss... what cover did he release as a single?
