The show itself is terrible now compared to both eras you referenced. But Weekend Update now is pathetic. I've watched probably 6 or 7 entire "Updates" with Fey and Fallon and never laughed or giggled or hell even smirked once. They are poor poor poor. And I have to blame Tina Fey for the demise of the show as she is head writer. If you have to put blame somewhere its gotta go to that role and she fills it. She's incredibly, just painstakingly unfunny, and Weekend Update is miserable with those two.
