Just kidding.
Anyhow, I've been trying to get together a concept for Marvel's Epic line, where no name writers hook up with no name artists and make a comic under the Epic tag. I'm not even sure if it's still going on or not, really, but it's a project that I've had in my head for a while and I'd like to get out.
Anyhow, anyone who followed the X-Men comics knows that Colossus martyred himself for the good of mutantkind and the end to the Legacy Virus that killed his sister. However, he willingly sacrificed his life which never set well with me. Cut away all the poetic waxings and you've got another person who committed suicide. Most religious people believe that suicide is the ultimate sin and, thus, the only surefire way to get into Hell.
With that in mind, I've envisioned the last few years have went on with Colossus burning in Hell. Enter the Exiles, time and dimension travelers who go from world to world and right wrongs. To me, seeing the saviour of millions of people burn in Hell has always been wrong.
Part of the poetic nature of Piotr Rasputin's death was that he felt he'd finally be with his sister, Iliyana (sp?), again. However, she's likely in Heaven while he's tortured in Hell. I'd like the Timebroker (the Exiles' version of Ziggy from Quantum Leap) to have them save Colossus' soul.
Marvel has had its problems keeping Hell straight. I'd like to bring back Mephistos, their version of the devil, since it's been a long time since he was last in a comic. It's not the first time someone's tried to save a soul from Hell, either, as Doctor Doom went down to Hell itself to get his mother into Heaven.
Regardless, it's a risky story with theology and the Marvel universe and tricky, too, because Colossus' death is one of the few that has always been seen as "final" in the comic world. To bring him back in any way is a bit rough, but it's probably more acceptable now after his awesome cameo in X2.
Also, girls who fight crime with big boobs... that seems to do well in the market today.
