I think it goes without saying that I would LOVE to see Darren's response to this. Darren, if you're at all interested, enquiring minds want to...well, you get the idea.

: You don't need a marketing firm when you're direct-mailing every church in the world. That shit is SOLID GOLD.

mmmm...didn't work for Last Temptation. More correctly, the American public really likes this movie. Yes, they did their PR work correctly, but it had to resonate to get the response that it did.

: I still REALLY want one of those "nail" necklaces they're shilling. So tacky, yet so wonderful.

Yeah, next thing you know they'll make their symbol that cross thingie.

Seriously, I sometimes wonder if a bunch of renegade, punk Christians adopted the cross as a screw-you to the local authorities back in the early days. So the nail thing doesn't bug me much. Not that I'm planning in buying one.

: I haven't seen THE PASSION, but I'm into the cult of life, not death. I'll try to watch it eventually, but if I'm to subject myself to a brutally violent movie (SO not my thing) I at least want to be in the comfort of my own home.

Mmmm...speaking out of my non-Christian fanny here...

* The film IS violent. The first half hour I wondered what they were talking about; AND THEN IT STARTED AND DIDN'T STOP UNTIL THE END CREDITS.

* Nevertheless, the film is NOT about death. It's about speaking the truth regardless of the consequences, and being willing to take those consequences, whatever they are. It's about makign the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of your people. It's about Man's inability to understand God, even when He has manifested as human and is right next to them. It's about...oh, just see it.

John
