Hey Kevin!
Went to a 730pm showing of JG at the Irvine Spectrum here in southern California. The theatre was pretty packed by the time the flick started, even some people having trouble finding seats.
The audience has definitely expanded on this one. I even turned to my girlfriend and said how weird it was to see so many middleaged woman and older folks, and not just the regular VA crowd.
The response was awesome! I thought you'd be proud, everyone laughed at all the right spots and sniffles were heard during the sad scenes. When Ollie yelled at Gertie and told her that she and her mom took away his life there were actual audible gasps. You can't ask for more than that.
People also walked out talking about it and seemed pleased overall.
